Child Care Programs

The Edgewater, Punta Gorda, Franz Ross, Charlotte Regional, and North Port Child Care Branches are a full service child care for families in the Charlotte County Area. Our skilled staff gives loving care to our precious commodities, our children. The facility includes excellent safe outdoor and indoor areas that will meet our child's developmental growth needs. The program works with area subsidy providers and does not turn anyone away because of financial capability.

The Charlotte County Family YMCA does not turn anyone away because of inability to pay. Y-Assist

Description: Age 1-4 years. The YMCA provides care for preschool and toddlers in a safe, nurturing environment.

1 Year Old Full time: $150 Members/ $165 Non-Members
Part time 3 days: $90 Members/ $105 Non-Members

2 Years Old Full time: $140 Members/ $155 Non-Members

Program Name: YMCA READS!
Location: Edgewater
Cost: Free
Description: First and Second Grade Students with a teacher recommendation for intensive reading skill improvement. The program provides a reading mentor in a safe and fun atmosphere with SIPPS Reading Program material and a positive exposure to relate literature to students lives through the Making Meaning Program. It currently takes place at Meadow Park, East and Peace River Elementary Schools. The program runs Monday through Thursday, after school. Volunteer mentors are needed to keep this program running so please contact Julie DiPietrantonio or Melissa Meisner at (941)629-2220 if you are available to volunteer 2 days per week. Snack is also provided for students and those needing extended care can enroll in the Afterschool Program. Care is provided right on school premises for East and Meadow Park students. Additional care is provided at our Edgewater facility for students of Meadow Park and Peace River Elementary.
