YMCA

Volunteer

No matter what your age and skills, you will always find a warm welcome at your Y. Your time and effort will translate into helping a child, mentoring a teen or providing support for families. To help you choose an area in which you would be interested, the YMCA has established five categories of volunteers:

1. Program Volunteers: help to lead programs as an instructor, coach or aide. This area also covers those who are participating as part of a community service program.
2. Support Volunteers: work in the office, front desk or around the grounds.
3. Fundraising Volunteers: raise funds through our campaigns (annual, capital, special or sustaining); work on endowment development, or work at/run special events.
4. Policy Volunteers: serve on the board of directors, on a committee, or a task force.
5. Managerial Volunteers: help to manage or administer Y operations, e.g. pro-bono accountants, electrical contractors, etc.

All categories are open to all people- and many serve in more than one! Help us to solve and prevent problems. If you are able to become an integral part of the YMCA, please contact the branch you would like to volunteer at- you'll be glad you did!
